Using their knowledge of fraction, decimal, and percentage equivalence, students compare and order numbers in all three forms. In section A, students are faced with 6 pairs of numbers and asked to find the largest of the two. Learners will have to consider equivalence in various forms in order to answer. Leading on from this, learners next have 3 sets of 4 fractions, decimals, and percentages to put into ascending order. Section B starts with an example which suggests that students first convert all numbers into percentages before ordering them in their original form. This avoids any confusion in ordering decimals or fractions which may have different denominators. Section C moves on to asking students to find two numbers between 1% and 4% as a fraction and a decimal and finally between 4/10 and 1/2 as a decimal and a percentage. Only 1 example answer is given for each, a great conversation starter between student and teacher or between peers.
